Shepherd, Follow!

Shepherd, Follow! (SATB, a cappella, alto solo); This is a short, easy-to-learn, setting of the popular African-American Spiritual. Singers will enjoy the incorporation of the 12-bar blues progression and the ways the choral parts give support to the solo. With a syncopated, gospel-feel, this is sure to be a crowd and choir-pleaser! A piano reduction of the choral parts is included.

Shepherd, Follow! (African American Spiritual,  adapted)

There’s a star in the East on Christmas morn.
It will lead to the place where the Savior’s born.
If you take good heed to the angel’s words.
You’ll forget your flocks, you’ll forget your herds.
Follow the star of Bethlehem. Rise up shepherd and follow.
